‘Places’ to ‘Spaces’: The Paradoxical Shift

Maria Akhtar is working as an Assistant Professor at Dayananda Sagar School of Architecture, Bangalore. She has completed M.Arch. in Architecture Education from SMMCA, Nagpur, and B.Arch. from VNIT, Nagpur. Her Masters dissertation titled “Architecture: A Cultural Artifact: Ancient World View”, was nominated for National Awards for Excellence in Post-Graduate Architectural Thesis 2017, conducted by the Council of Architecture.
Furthermore, she is a voracious reader, with inclination towards areas like man-environment interaction, cultural anthropology and ancient history. Also she is a passionate designer and has participated in various international competitions like ASA-2016 and 120 hours.
