Every craftsman creates an area or his workplace as per the requirements of his craft. This is a gradual process and very organic and developed over several years from generations to generations of craftsmen.
In this studio work, the students explored various craft forms of India and documented one such selected craft each; the culture, traditions & customs of the craftsman and spaces & architecture for it. All this is interconnected in Indian crafts.
Several craft forms are fighting for survival. All this understanding is required while documenting various crafts of India if we need to help restore them and support them as architects in future.
