The major design project undertaken by the 7th Semester students was to design a Hospital to understand and design the complexities involved in terms of circulation & services. The project dealt with understanding the approach involved in addressing the challenges involved to evolve a humane environment for hospitals. The two specialties identified for the hospital will cater by individual student are as follows

Orthopedic or Cardiology
Gynecology & Pediatrics

The architectural design challenges included Universal Design approach, Activities and space required, Circulation and seamless connectivity on each level in building to augment the anticipated built-up, Zoning of the activities on site and horizontal and vertical zoning, Parking allotted for the visitors & staff ,Building services of the hospital like staircases, lifts, fire escape staircase, ducts, shafts, service floors, toilets, HVAC, automation systems, electrical, plumbing, medical services etc.

The built up area was approximately 6000 – 8000 Sqm.

S A Deshpande Competition

IIA S A Deshpande Competition –

Ms. Araisha Rab won the 1st prize and a consolation prize was awarded to Ms. Mayuri Mehta for the 15^th Prof. S A Deshpande Studio Design Competition-2023 which was held by IIA Nagpur Centre.

Topic – This edition’s topic was ‘Magical realism’. The brief talked about how the fantastic is included in a normal everyday narrative to better demonstrate reality, through Metaphor or contrast.

Toye Landscape Studio Competition

The Toye Landscape Competition was held on 16th Dec 2023. The students were given the area opposite to the college building. They had to design the area using softscape and hardscape elements and re – use the materials from the nescafe kiosk. All the trees had to be retained. Ar. Udaydutta Gajbhiye was invited as the external jury along with Ar. Sanjeevani Mohagoankar.
