Housing for Migrants
Due to pandemic, rural areas and rural lives — especially of ‘migrant workers’ — have become miserable and attracted attention of all. In Aatmanirbhar Bharat Program importance is given more to Rural infrastructure, Agricultural infrastructure and MSME. This program includes provision for affordable housing, housing for migrant labours and other infrastructural developments.
Design intervention at this level focuses on the issues of housing for migrants. The efforts were made to make students aware of the reasons of migration and reverse migration and its impact on development & to understand the development guidelines given by Government under various housing schemes. Through this project, students worked on various government housing schemes, the concept of Affordable housing and rental housing along with the construction techniques used as per the availability of local resources.
Housing units were designed keeping in view the built up areas given under government housing schemes with more interactive spaces and semi open spaces for spill over activities
