Major Project: RE-IMAGINING THE RURAL SCAPE OF WARODA (Section A) RIDHORA (Section B), Borkhedi (Section C) VILLAGES OF NAGPUR DISTRICT
Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, which translates to ‘self-reliant India’ or ‘self-sufficient India’, is the vision of the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi of making India “a bigger and more important part of the global economy”, pursuing policies that are efficient, competitive and resilient, and being self-sustaining and self-generating.
A country where 65.53% of the country’s population is rural, the Atmanirbhar Abhiyan should start from the core of this, majority of the rural migrate to urban areas for better job opportunities, educational facilities, better lifestyle, better healthcare, for the very purpose of understanding the current scenario of rural India, we studied three villages near Nagpur, Maharashtra named Waroda, Ridhora and Borkhedi. The context and issues identified for each village was different but the baseline issue to all of them was better infrastructure, better opportunities.
